Peter G. Klein is Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University, and Senior Research Fellow with Baylor鈥檚 Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise. He is also Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Management at the Norwegian School of Economics and Carl Menger Research Fellow at the Mises Institute. Klein has also held faculty positions at the University of Missouri鈥檚 Division of Applied Social Science and Truman School of Public Affairs, the Copenhagen Business School, the University of Georgia鈥檚 Terry College of Business, and Washington University鈥檚 Olin Business School, and is an Honorary Professor at the Beijing University of Information Science and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Klein鈥檚 research focuses on the links between entrepreneurship, strategy, and organization, with application to innovation, diversification, vertical coordination, health care, and public policy. His work has appeared in Organization Science, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Management, Managerial and Decision Economics, Strategic Organization, Journal of Industrial Economics, Rand Journal of Economics, and other outlets. Peter鈥檚 2012 book 鈥淥rganizing Entrepreneurial Judgment鈥 (Cambridge University Press, with Nicolai Foss) received the 2014 Best Book Award from the Foundation for Economic Education. He has also received Best Paper awards from the Journal of Private Enterprise Education and the European Management Review. His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Kauffman Foundation, the Mises Institute, the Illinois-Missouri Biotechnology Alliance, and other organizations.

Garrett Bauer, a trader who plead guilty to insider trading, obstruction of justice and money laundering in December 2011 in a conspiracy that lasted 17-years and netted some $37 million. The case is one of the largest, longest-running insider trading schemes ever prosecuted and among the more complex unveiled in the midst of a federal crack down on insider trading. In addition to forfeiting some $23 million in assets earned off the trades and homes purchased with the proceeds, Mr. Bauer faces as much as 25 years when sentenced on four felony counts in March 2012.
Just prior to his sentencing date, Mr. Bauer will talk about his experience and lessons learned.

Cathy Benko is Vice Chairman and Chief Talent Officer at Deloitte LLP, the largest professional services firm in the United States. 聽She is also the co-author of several best-selling books including聽The Corporate Lattice: Achieving High Performance in the Changing World of Work (Harvard 2010), Mass Career Customization: Aligning the Workplace with Today’s Nontraditional Workforce (Harvard 2007), and Connecting the Dots: Aligning Projects with Objectives in Unpredictable Times (Harvard 2003). 聽Her books have been translated into multiple languages and her byline and insights appear regularly in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, BusinessWeek, Time, Leadership Excellence, and the Harvard Business Review.聽 Ms. Benko has received numerous honors for her professional achievements, including Consulting Magazine鈥檚 鈥25 Most Influential Consultants鈥 and the San Francisco Business Times 鈥淔orever Influential鈥 Honor Roll for exceptional women leaders.聽 Ms. Benko is a 1985 graduate of 小米视频 and received her MBA from Harvard Business School in 1989.聽 She currently lives in Northern California with her husband and two children.

The Speaker
Joseph Calandro, Jr.聽is the author of聽Applied Value Investing聽(NY: McGraw-Hill, 2009). He is also the Enterprise Risk Manager of a global financial services firm & a Finance Department faculty member of the聽University of Connecticut聽where he designed & taught MBA courses on value investing & risk management. He was previously a financial consultant with聽IBM Global Business Services.
Joe has published widely including in the聽Journal of Private Equity, theQuarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, and聽Strategy & Leadership. A list of his publications 鈥 some of which are downloadable 鈥 is available at the聽. Joe has also presented papers at conferences in the U.S., U.K., & Canada.
